Upstairs: Coffee Hour: What is the Church For?

Paul A. will facilitate the second session in our series, What Is the Church For? We will listen to Christian voices from other times and places and ask what they might help us see about God s calling of the church. Rather than simply looking back at church history, we will consider how these witnesses can widen our imagination, challenge some of our assumptions, and help us reflect more deeply on what it means to be the church today.

Camp Sponsorship Fundraiser

In 2026, 14 children and youth had memorable summer camp experiences thanks to the support of the Valleyview camp sponsorship fund. As we prepare for next year, we want to replenish the restricted fund so it is available to offer a meaningful subsidy for every Valleyview child who wants to attend a Mennonite summer camp.

On Sunday, October 11, we will be encouraging you to donate to the fund, in concert with our youth leading the service. They are planning to bring the spirit of camp to the service, and we invite you to as well! If you wish, bring or wear something that reminds you of summer camp or outdoor fun. Our fundraising goal is to reach and hopefully surpass $2000.  You can donate to this fund during the Sunday offering or online at valleyviewmc.ca/give (indicating camp sponsorship in your memo line!).
