In and Around Valleyview
Thank You note
from Welcome Wednesday
On the
bulletin board by the upstairs entry is a thank you note to Valleyview (VV)
from Carol Langford, of Rowntree United (RU) Church s Board of Directors.
In the past, Agape Fellowship (AF) obtained an upright freezer to store
donated meat for participants to purchase at a very low cost. Upon closing,
they left this freezer for VV s use, but it has been sitting mostly empty.
Welcome Wednesday (WW) has needed more space than
their currently owned smaller chest freezer. Lynne W suggested a swap - VV
receiving the WW freezer and providing the larger upright freezer to RU.
With approval from both churches, the exchange was made in March.
The thank you note from RU was for this generous exchange.
It feels like WW was being watched over by the universe s generosity.
About 1.5 weeks after the freezer exchange happened, WW received a
donation of 6, frozen 20 lb. turkeys. What a gift, and how wonderful to be able to accept this 120-pounds-of-great-meat
contribution because we had the huge empty freezer to fill.
Thank you VV from RU!!
(If anyone
feels like cooking a turkey or two with us at RU sometime in the next few
months, please contact Lynne Williams.)
