Intergenerational Activity this Sunday, Feb. 23 

Bagged lunch & Tobogganing

Council is planning an informal intergenerational gathering immediately following Second Hour. You are invited to bring a bag lunch, and we will eat together downstairs. Following that, those interested will make their way to a tobogganing hill about a 15 20 minute walk away at the St. Peter s cemetery, located at Huron and Barker Street.

Following the tobogganing activity, Daniel and Jess have graciously invited us to their place for hot chocolate.

There will be no extra food or drinks available at the church so don t forget a bag lunch and drink if you would like to participate.

 

This Week at Valleyview

 

February 20 22, we welcome Elections Ontario - Advanced Polling to our building from 9am to 9pm (Thurs-Sat). The basement main hall is closed to church member use during this time.

Friday, February 21 *YOUTH EVENT*

7pm 9pm: Youth Monthly Gathering Roller Skating

The youth program will cover the cost of skate rentals and snacks. 

Where: Drop off and pick up location: North London Optimist Community Centre, 1345 Cheapside St, London, ON N5V 3N9

What to bring: a helmet and a water bottle

MCEC is excited to host MC Canada Gathering 2025, at Rockway Mennonite Collegiate, Kitchener. Volunteer Coordinators, Ashley Drudge and Gladys Bender are seeking volunteers of all ages, interested in welcoming and offering hospitality to MC Canada Gathering participants from across Canada. **VALLEYVIEW FAMILIES See Email form the office dated January 31, 2025 for instructions on how to register for summer camp at SLMC and receive the Valleyview Camp Sponsorship subsidy. Reach out to Heather in the office for any questions. Notification of your camper s SLMC summer camp registration is due to Valleyview s Church Office no later than Sunday, March 23.

Coming up soon: Winter Camp for Grown-Ups (Feb 28-Mar 2) - This weekend is for 20 & 30 somethings who want to get away on a low-key, relaxing retreat. This unscheduled weekend gives folks the chance to relax, enjoy the outdoors, play games, and/or make space for personal reflection. It is co-hosted by PiE (Pastors in Exile) and SLMC. (also in March: Staff Alumni Retreat and Music Retreat)

Scent-Free Zone: Severe Scent Allergy

Valleyview is a scent-free zone as many participants have strong reactions to scented products. Please refrain from using all scented products: cologne, perfume, hairspray, hand and body lotion.

No Peanuts: Allergy Alert

Some members in attendance experience serious peanut allergy. Please refrain from bringing, eating, or serving any food labelled as containing peanuts or with warning May contain peanuts .

Please wear a facemask if you feel more comfortable and remember to stay home if you are not feeling well.
