Worship Preview

Worship: To Hope and Act with Creation is our fall worship series, providing an Anabaptist lens as we seek justice and peace for all creation. In a time when the groans of creation are growing in intensity, Mennonites are invited to join Christians all over the world in marking the Season of Creation - six weeks in September and October of worship, prayer, and action dedicated to the healing of our common home. (We will extend into November.)

Romans 8:14-25 provides a rich scriptural framework for the season, inviting us to join creation in lament and praise as we seek reconnecting as kin within the whole, moving away from a culture of destruction into a fully restored and embodied web of life.

November 10: Peace Sunday

Treasurer’s Message

Valleyview congregation,

Thank-you for your financial contributions to Valleyview Mennonite Church. I am pleased to report that as of end of September, we are tracking well to our 2024 operating plan. With 3 months remaining in our fiscal year, we now require $24,703 in donations in each of the remaining months of the year (Oct, Nov and Dec) to meet our budget. Thank-you for your continued support.

In addition to funding our church's Christian Formation, Worship, Care and Fellowship programs, I want to highlight some of the items where your donations have had an impact externally:

 1. Welcome Wednesday and the Friday Food Program (previously run by Agape) benefit from Valleyview's financial participation with the London Food Coalition.

 2. Our Endowment Fund supported the work of London Community Chaplaincy and their community of families.

 3. We supported local community needs programs in NorthEast London in cooperation with LUSO.

 4. We supported Mennonite Church South Korea - Bock Ki Kim and Sook Kyoung Park ministries.

 5. We provided monthly contributions to the ministries of Mennonite Church Eastern Canada and Mennonite Church Canada and the work of the National church.

 6. We supported the work of Sanctuary London.

 7. We supported 9 children with a summer church camp experience.

 8. Pastoral Care Team has been active with our Benevolent Fund meeting critical needs.

You can track your giving statement at the following link: https://www.valleyviewmc.ca/givingstatement

With much gratitude for your continued financial support.

John Spenler, Treasurer

There will be no recording during this time. We anticipate the outage to last through November and aim to restore streaming for the Advent season.
