5:30-8:00pm: The Art in Recovery Recreation Group (Basement Main Hall)
A free art and recreation group meeting once per month for people in the recovery/recovering stages of addiction (whether substance or process). We encourage positive communication and supports to group members in any stage of recovery. Pre-Registration required, spaces limited. Visit Facebook Link, or contact Emily Holden: 519-317-1527.

 

Wednesday, May 22nd

11:30am 1:30pm: Welcome Wednesday @ Rowntree UC

Valleyview serves the Welcome Wednesday community lunch meal at Rowntree United Church (Cheapside St), the fourth Wednesday of each month, except in Dec., July and August.

 

Friday, May 24th

7:00pm-9:00pm: ***Youth*** Monthly Gathering Mini Golf

Our next youth event will be at Tin Cup mini golf (1324 Adelaide St N). Youth entry costs are covered. Please RSVP by May 21st to the email from Krista & Paul A, so we can let Tin Cup know how large our group will be.

 

Saturday, May 25th

7:30pm: Valleyview Male Chorus Spring Concert

**PLEASE BRING THIS SUNDAY, May 26**
Craft Supplies for Fanshawe Park Worship & Picnic

This year there will once again be a craft project at the Fanshawe Park picnic on June 2. If you would like to participate, you will need to bring the following:

 

        one empty 796-ml tin can, a size commonly used for tomatoes or fruit. (The size is specific to fit inside a structure.)

        a green-handled, square-drive screwdriver if you have one.

 

An example of the craft is on display in the upper foyer. Please leave your can with your name on it at the display by Sunday, May 26th. I will bring your tin and a craft kit to the park on June 2.

Fanshawe Picnic Setup Volunteers Needed:

We re seeking 4 to 6 people to help setup tables & chairs in the pavilion at 10:00am. Please contact Brenda F if you will be able to arrive early and help.


Sunday June 2nd: Fanshawe Park Worship Service & Picnic Lunch

There is no service at Valleyview, or livestream of the park service.

 

Join us for Valleyview's annual worship service at Fanshawe Park Conservation Area (1424 Clarke Road, north of Huron St.) 

  • 10:30am:  Worship Service
  • 12:00pm:  Potluck Picnic Lunch
  • 1:00pm:    Family Activity (Birdhouse Craft) & Games 

 

Plan to stay for the afternoon, enjoying free time & fellowship!

 

Free Entry:

Do NOT pay at the entrance gate. Tell the attendant you are with Valleyview Mennonite Church, the park will bill the church.

 

We will meet at the Watson Porter Pavilion. (see map image attached) Follow the signs - cross over the dam, past the Pioneer Village, and park in the lot (grassy area) to the left of the road under the tall evergreen trees. The gate entrance to the Watson Porter Pavilion will be on the right. Do not park along the driveway to the pavilion. Please leave this area for accessible parking only.


What to Bring: 

  • Lawn Chairs / Blankets 
  • Food to Share (Peanut Free, Sesame Free) for potluck style Picnic Lunch 
  • Dishes, Cutlery, Water Bottles or Drink Cups (Water Refill Station is provided) 
  • Outdoor games & activities for free time (frisbees, balls, lawn games...)
  • Weather Appropriate Clothing, Sunscreen & Bug Spray

 

Please bring a serving dish and utensil for your potluck contribution. There are no extra serving dishes available at the pavilion. Label your dish with your name and please collect it before leaving at the end of the event.

Lace up your shoes and get ready to Run for Relief! Before you join the lines for spring rolls and doughnuts at the New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale, get an early morning 2 km or 5 km fun run in at the Run for Relief. Not a runner? Walkers are also welcome! All participants are invited to gather at the New Hamburg Fairgrounds at 8:00 am. For more info, go to
