Craft Supplies for Fanshawe Park Worship & Picnic
This year there will once
again be a craft project at the Fanshawe Park picnic on June 2. If you would
like to participate, you will need to bring the following:
one empty 796-ml tin can, a
size commonly used for tomatoes or fruit.
(The size is specific to fit inside a structure.)
a green-handled, square-drive screwdriver
if you have one.
An example of the craft
is on display in the upper foyer. Please leave your
can with your name on it at the display by Sunday, May 26th. I
will bring your tin and a craft kit to the park on June 2.
See you there.

Seniors' Gathering Wednesday, May 15 at 10AM
Shelley K. will be
bringing us a survey of London's art history, especially the hotbed of the
1960s to the 1980s, and this particular thing artist
Greg Curnoe called "Regionalism". What was
it, how was it received, who were some of the key figures, and why did it
happen in London (of all places!?)
This quote in an American
magazine from 1969 sums it up:
"WHAT LONDON,
ONTARIO, HAS THAT EVERYWHERE ELSE NEEDS
London...is also one of
Canada's four major art scenes. Younger than Montreal, livelier than Toronto,
vying with Vancouver in variety and sheer quantity of output, it is in many
ways the most important of the four."
