- Palm Sunday -

 

9:10am - Small choir meet to rehearse before the service

 

9:55am Families: Children are invited to open the worship service by waving palm branches down the church aisles.

To participate, please have your child wait in the foyer outside the sanctuary prior to the service. At the beginning of the service children will walk down the aisle waving supplied palm branches to music, place their palm branch in the basket under the front table, then go and sit with their family.

LUSO invites families from their service area to register for a free healthy meal and family activity. Valleyview assist LUSO by supplying volunteers to prep and serve food, monitor tables, and clean up.

11:30am 1:30pm: Welcome Wednesday @ Rowntree UC
Valleyview serves the Welcome Wednesday community lunch meal at Rowntree United Church (Cheapside St), the fourth Wednesday of each month, except in Dec., July and August.

***Easter Breakfast*** March 31 from 8:30-9:30am downstairs

Enjoy breakfast and conversation prior to the Easter Worship service.

Please bring finger foods to share (muffins, Paska or other baked goods, cheese & crackers, fruit).

Coffee and juice will be provided.

Please remember to bring your own dishes for your family plates, cutlery, glasses/mugs.

Volunteers Needed: to assist with the set-up and take down of tables and chairs we ask that you arrive at 8am. If able to assist please let Brenda F know: brendafriesen1963@gmail.com

Due to many scent allergies, please ensure floral arrangements do not include any other flowers.

Student In A Box (Shoebox) Gifting 
Our college and university students are finishing essays and preparing for final exams in a few short weeks. We seek to help them feel God s love and remind them their church family is thinking about them at this time of year. Our past students have shared how much they appreciated receiving the surprise boxes and the knowledge our community cares about them. 

 

On the library counter in the upper lobby beginning Sunday March 17, you will find boxes with a Valleyview student s name on them. Please consider picking one (or more), filling it, and arranging delivery in the first week of April.

 

Ideas to fill the boxes and remind them of home & Easter: 
-Home-made goods (soup mix, cookies, etc.) 
-Gift cards (coffee, convenience food, retail, etc.) 
-Seasonal greeting card or postcard 

-Favourite snacks or candy 

-Inspirational/d cor (coasters, magnet, photo frame, festive lights, mug, etc.) 
-Fun (fidgets, a magazine, a book for summer reading, etc.) 
-Practical (hygiene items, school supplies, cozy socks, etc.)

The Annual Spirituality and Aging Seminar will take place on Friday, June 21st in-person and virtually at Conrad Grebel University College. Rev. Dr. Mark Roberts presents From Problems to Possibilities: Faith Communities enabling those in the third of life to flourish.  This seminar challenges the narratives about elders in communities, churches, and society at large; exploring the role churches can play in empowering older adults. Members in attendance experience a serious peanut allergy. Please refrain from bringing, eating, or serving any food labelled as containing peanuts or with warning May contain peanuts .
