Invitation to
participate in the MCC's Great Winter Warm Up at Valleyview
Valleyview is again participating in
MCC's Great Winter Warm Up. This year the event will take place on
Saturday January 27th from 10 am to noon at Valleyview. You are invited
to participate by knotting a comforter and contributing to the gift of warm comforters to those in need around the
world. Each comforter provides not only warmth but also a tangible reminder to
people in vulnerable situations that their needs are not forgotten. Help us
in meeting the MCC goal to collect 7,000 comforters. On January 27,
you re invited to participate in a comforter-knotting blitz. Knotters of all
skills are welcome and coffee and muffins will be
provided. Learn more at mcc.org/events.

Mission Project: Request from the London Community Chaplaincy
Last
week the Valleyview church office sent out a newsletter from the London
Community Chaplaincy, outlining several "in-kind" projects that could
be undertaken. With the go-ahead by the Missions and Social Concerns Committee,
I am suggesting that Valleyview might be interested in making up some Blessing
Bags, one of the February projects.
If
you are interested in making up a Blessing Bag for a single mom at Limberlost,
here are some suggestions for a bag to be valued at about $10:
$5 Tim Horton's cards
pretty soap
chocolate
tea
mints
a nice pen
encouragement notes
garden seeds
Please
place the items in a small gift bag or wrap in cellophane.
If
you would like to prepare one or more of these bags, please let me know. I will
collect them from you in the next week or so.
